I have no idea where the past week has gone. It's been a blur of work, puppy and SF Dude. SF Pup got really sick the other day and had to make an emergency trip to the vet. $260, 2 medications, special medicated food, and who knows how much money spent buying him replacement toys later, he is still not feeling too well. We think the swimming creek is contaminated (for those in the DC area, I'd avoid Shirlington Dog Park for a while!) and he drank a whole lot of the water while swimming this weekend. Poor pup.
Work has been okay. Nothing too exciting. Just a blur of spreadsheets, documents, and research. For someone who has worked in a finance related field for the past 5 years, it's amazing how little I know about this area of finance! I've slowly been learning the past 6 months and it's been interesting in some aspects and in some aspects I'm so glad I never got into pure finance.
I saw GI Joe this past weekend and I absolutely loved it! I mean, how can you not love Channing Tatum as a badass soldier?? SF Dude was so happy that Duke was an Army Special Forces soldier (yes he looks for insignias, tabs, etc in every military related movie we watch. And by he, I really mean we). And how hot were the women in this movie?? I'm not a huge Sienna Miller fan, but she was hot in this movie. I still haven't seen Julie & Julia, though I have finished the book. There's just something about the Julie character that irks me a little bit though. She's such a whiner.
I finally got around to doing the 30 Day Shred workout with the 5 lb dumbells yesterday. Let me just say that it is much harder with the weights than with cans of green beans! How did I play sports for so long growing up and struggle with this?? I'm also still on task with the whole 2 new recipes a month thing. I just put in a 4 lb pork shoulder in the slow cooker for cajun pulled pork. I sent A the recipe this weekend when I was planning my menu for the week and she's already made it. She said it was spicy but delicious. I can't wait for dinner tonight!!
Alright, I gotta go get ready for work. I'm saving the world one finance fraud at a time...ha! :)
